Rep. Matsui Applauds Sacramento County for Road Improvement Projects

CA – Congresswoman Doris O. Matsui (CA-5) applauded the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors and the Sacramento County Transportation Department for working with state and federal agencies to repair and upgrade a variety of local roads using federal stimulus dollars.

This month the County of Sacramento will start repairing 17 different sections of road across the County with, $9 million of federal stimulus funds.  The stimulus funding will be used to resurface and repair local roads, while also creating 200 private sector jobs.

“Once again we are seeing stimulus projects like this put people to work, make our streets safer and help the County of Sacramento provide necessary services to the public,” said Congresswoman Doris Matsui.  “Projects like really hit home and connect people to their local, state and federal governments. They create jobs, make streets safer, and give people a sense of community.  Each step of the way, projects like this are helping our local economy and show that the Recovery Act is working.”
