Washington – Last week, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-06) announced that the Sacramento region will be receiving more than $23 million in federal funding from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for levee projects in Natomas and West Sacramento.

“After our region secured $1.8 billion in flood protection construction funding over the summer, we’ve now brought home an additional $23 million,” said Congresswoman Matsui, “This money will be used to continue building our levees in Natomas and planning the project in West Sacramento. Each dollar gets us closer to the level of flood protection Sacramento deserves, and we’re again seeing the results as another round of projects in the region gets underway.”

Specifically, the Natomas Levee Improvement Project was allocated $22.65 million on Wednesday, for a total of $64.65 million in Fiscal Year 2019. The West Sacramento Project received $400,000 in preconstruction, engineering, and design funding.
