Sacramento, CA – Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-06) announced Jesus Limon Guzman will be her guest during the State of The Union address. Jesus, a DACA recipient, is an Adjunct Professor at California State University, Sacramento and a lecturer at Sacramento City College.

Limon Guzman arrived in the United States when he was just 8-years-old. His mother hoped it could give her children a brighter future. As a young adult living in South Sacramento, Limon Guzman spent much of his time volunteering and giving back to the community.

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, also known as DACA, has allowed Dreamers like Limon Guzman the opportunity to pursue a fulfilling career and contribute to our community, benefiting countless students at Sacramento State.

Congresswoman Matsui met Jesus Limon Guzman in 2016, where he shared his story with her. He attributed much of his career success to his two mentors who understood discrimination and his story, and who took risks to help him succeed.  Congresswoman Matsui has remained inspired by Limon Guzman’s advocacy and career.

“Jesus Limon Guzman’s inspiring story of achieving his dreams as an educator and advocate in our community – is the American Dream. People like Jesus are an integral and important part of our nation and our community,” said Congresswoman Matsui.
