Congresswoman Matsui Statement on the 20th Anniversary of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin’s Assassination
Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-06) issued the following statement on the 20th anniversary of the death of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin:
“Today, we remember and honor the life of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who was tragically assassinated 20 years ago,” said Congresswoman Matsui.
“During his tenure as Prime Minister, Yitzhak Rabin was a courageous peacemaker. He approached his work with a sense of tolerance and respect, and his diplomacy has served, and will continue to serve, as a model as we work to stop violence and pursue peace.
“In reflecting on Prime Minister Rabin’s life, and in honor of his legacy, it is my hope that Israeli and Palestinian leaders will come together to forge an understanding that leads to long term peace for the region.”
