Today Congresswoman Doris Matsui released the following statement in response to the announcement from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that it will launch an investigation into certain contracts for special access services. Special access services are data lines that small businesses, wireless carriers, and anchor institutions rely on for voice and broadband Internet access.
“A competitive market for special access services results in savings for small businesses and Fortune 500 companies, encourages broadband deployment, and can help improve wireless coverage,” said Congresswoman Matsui. “I support the FCC taking steps to promote choice in the communications marketplace.”
