WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D-CA), a senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, issued the following statement on President Biden’s address to a joint session of Congress.
“This evening, President Biden unveiled his vision for an America that works for all of us – where our diversity is valued, and our ingenuity is celebrated. Over his first 100 days, the President has proven his dedication to American workers and families through the American Rescue Plan and has exemplified the compassion necessary to bring our nation together,” said Congresswoman Matsui. “As we continue down the road to recovery, I look forward to working with the Biden Administration to deliver on the American Family Plan and American Jobs Plan. This is an important moment in history and we have the opportunity to shape our nation’s future for generations to come. That means making critical investments in our kids, our grandkids, and our families to secure our economic future. It means bold investments to repair our aging roads, bridges, and schools, combat climate change, and give American innovators the tools necessary to build our economy back better.”
“Collectively, we are working to restore America’s faith in our democracy to deliver concrete solutions for the people,” Matsui continued. “As President Biden said tonight ‘America is on the move again, turning peril into possibility, crisis into opportunity, setback into strength.’ Opportunity and support for American families is how we move the nation forward. We can deliver solutions – and it is vital that we seize every opportunity to create American jobs and secure a brighter future.”
