Congresswoman Matsui Celebrates Labor Day Honors America•’s Workforce
CA • In honor of Labor Day 2010, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-05) released the following statement:
• On Labor Day, we honor the men and women of America•’s workforce. They are the foundation of our economy and their work spurs innovation and progress across the nation.
• Unfortunately however, during these economically difficult times, it is the American worker and their family who has suffered most. Too many families are struggling to survive on a single paycheck; too many workers are finding the American dream of equal opportunity, a steady paycheck, and a fair wage out of reach.
• That is why I go to work every day to help get our economy back on track, restore the manufacturing base in this country, and provide training opportunities for our local workforce. And this Labor Day, we can all take a moment to commit ourselves to working together to support America•’s working families.•
