• Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA• 05) recognized the importance of Father•’s Day by releasing the following statement:
• On Father•’s Day, we take time to honor the fathers who act as role models and pillars of strength to their families. It is a time to recognize the effort and care that so many fathers put forth so that their children and families, can grow to be stronger.
• During the recent economic crisis, the support of family has become more important than ever. This Sunday, as we celebrate Father•’s Day, I hope we all take the opportunity to celebrate the vital role that fathers play in all lives, and our community. I know that as I celebrate with my son and his family, I will also be thinking of the many fathers overseas helping to protect our nation, and honoring their heroism and commitment to our country.•
