POLITICO MORNING ENERGY: ME FIRST — WHAT’S THREATENING YOUR GRID?

Reps. Bob Latta (R-Ohio) and Doris Matsui (D-Calif.) are introducing a bipartisan bill today that would require states to provide more detailed information on threats to their power grids — including vulnerabilities in local distribution infrastructure and risks from increasing power demand — to receive funding from DOE’s State Energy Program. Latta, who is running to be Energy and Commerce chair next Congress, said the bill addresses the increasing threats to the grid from both physical and foreign cyber attackers.
