Congresswoman Doris Matsui Announces Beginning of the Sacramento Cash for College Coalition Workshops
CA Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-05) announced the kick-off of the Cash for College season, which begins today at a workshop at Foothill High School in North Highlands. The Sacramento Cash for College Coalition is consortium that strives to assist students with their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Workshops will begin today and continue at schools throughout the region through February 27th, hosting a total of sixteen events.
Higher education opens many doors for our youth as they pursue their careers, but often those doors remain shut because families cannot afford the increasing costs of a college degree, said Congresswoman Matsui. The Cash for College workshops help students and parents apply for financial aid, and open the doors to college and beyond. These workshops help students and parents navigate the often difficult financial aid process, and put college and university attendance in sight.
Congresswoman Matsui, as a member of the Cash for College Coalition, is hosting January 27th at Hiram Johnson High School and February 17th at Kennedy High School. The full list of workshops is below:
