Congresswoman Doris Matsui Announces Telephone Town Hall with Seniors to Take Place on Thursday Morning, 10:30 am PST
CA Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D-Sacramento) announced she will hold a Seniors Telephone Town Hall this Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 10:30 am PST to hear from and talk with her constituents on such topics as Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and the proposed changes to these programs in the House-passed budget plan.
In recent weeks, there has been significant debate in Congress about the future of Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. The House passed budget plan would make drastic changes to these programs, and I have voiced my concerns about the impact these changes would have on seniors and their families, said Congresswoman Matsui. I have heard from many of my constituents who are wondering how these changes would affect their ability to pay their bills, see their doctors, and get the care they need. Thursday's Telephone Town Hall will be another opportunity to help answer questions like these, and to have an open discussion with Sacramento seniors about ways that we can spur economic growth and protect the health and wellbeing of our seniors.
To participate in the Telephone Town Hall, constituents are encouraged to RSVP by calling Rep. Matsui's Sacramento office at (916) 498-5600 by Wednesday night. Attendees who RSVP will be called on the phone number they provide on the morning of the event.
