Congresswoman Matsui Announces New Legislative Director, Staff Assistant

Today Congresswoman Doris O. Matsui (D-CA) announced the hire of Rob Mosher as her new Legislative Director, effective immediately. Mosher will focus on the areas of energy, transportation, and labor issues, in addition to managing legislative staff and federal appropriations for the office.

Mosher most recently served as Legislative Director for Congressman Steve Kagen (D-WI), where he acted as the Member's principal policy advisor on transportation, health care, trade, banking, tax, housing, and immigration issues. Mosher has also worked in the offices of Congressman James Langevin (D-RI), former Congressman Max Sandlin (D-TX), former Congressman Robert E. Wise, Jr. (D-WV), and former Senator John Glenn (D-OH).

Mosher earned his bachelor's degree in Political Science from Miami University in Ohio, and holds a Master's degree in Public Policy from Baylor University in Texas. Mosher also spent four years at the Armenian-American community, helping to launch the U.S.-Armenia Public Affairs Committee (USAPAC), and running the organization's government affairs department.

Earlier this summer, Congresswoman Matsui also made an internal promotion, hiring Ryan McCabe as a Staff Assistant in July. McCabe was an intern in Congresswoman Matsui's Washington office in the spring, and previously worked as a Political Assistant at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) in the 2008 cycle. McCabe has also served as a Compliance Officer and as a Field Organizer on the John Edwards for President primary campaign in 2007-2008. McCabe is a graduate of Princeton University.
