CA As a co-sponsor of the Congressional resolution designating May as Mental Health Awareness Month (H.Res. 1258), Congresswoman Matsui today expressed her commitment to raising the issues of mental health awareness.

It is critical to the health and security of our community that we continue to help and support Sacramentans affected by mental illness, said Rep. Matsui. There remains much work left to be done to raise awareness of mental illness in Sacramento and around the country. We must continue to educate community members of the facts behind mental illness in order to reduce the social stigma that impedes so many from getting the treatment they deserve.
