Congresswoman Matsui Recognizes Veterans Day

CA In honor of Veterans Day 2011, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-05) released the following statement:

On Veterans Day, we take time to acknowledge and reflect on the great sacrifices made by our men and women in uniform, past and present. We owe our veterans an enormous debt of gratitude for their service, and we have an obligation to ensure that they have the support they deserve.

I continue to work to pass legislation that helps our veterans and their families, from raising the amount of benefits that disabled veterans receive, to putting in place job-training programs that help our troops transition to civilian life. It is our duty as a nation to ensure the highest quality of life for all of our veterans, and I will continue to support them through my work in Congress. Just as our troops don t leave a man behind on the battlefield, we as a nation must see to it that we don t leave a single veteran behind here at home.
