Congresswoman Matsui Statement Praising the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure's Passage of WRRDA Bill

Bipartisan Bill Would Authorize Natomas Levee Improvement Project andamp; Includes Rep. Matsui's Vegetation on Levees Legislation

Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-06) released the following statement on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure's passage of the bipartisan Water Resources Reform and Development Act of 2013 (WRRDA):

"I applaud Chairman Shuster, Ranking Member Rahall and the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for unanimously passing the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA) out of committee. This is an important step to move the WRRDA process forward, however there is still a lot of work ahead of us. The bill will now be reported to the full House for consideration in the coming weeks. I will continue to urge my colleagues in the House to support this bipartisan WRRDA. The people of Natomas and Sacramento have waited long enough for improved flood protection. The House must move forward with this legislation that will authorize the NLIP."
