Congresswoman Matsui Statement on San Bernardino, California Shooting

Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D-CA) today released the following statement on the shooting in San Bernardino, California:

"My thoughts and deepest sympathy are with the victims, their families, and the community of San Bernardino, California, who are reeling from the horrific mass shooting today," said Congresswoman Matsui. "In the face of yet another senseless attack on innocent citizens, it is past time that we treat gun violence in America as a national crisis."

"Lives are on the line, and with each passing day of Congressional inaction, another child, mother, or father is at risk of being killed. Our constituents have a right to feel safe in their schools, places of worship, and community centers. I call on my colleagues to put aside their political excuses, and join us in passing common sense measures that strengthen gun laws in this country before it is too late."
