Congresswomen Kristi Noem and Doris Matsui to Serve as Chairs of the Congressional Caucus for Women's Issues

Congresswomen Susan Brooks and Lois Frankel will Serve as Vice Chairs for the 114th Congress

The bipartisan Congressional Caucus for Women's Issues has a new leadership team for the 114th Congress; Congresswomen Kristi Noem (R-SD) and Doris Matsui (D-CA) have been elected by their peers to serve as Co-Chairs of the caucus. They will be joined by newly elected vice chairs Congresswomen Susan Brooks (R-IN) and Lois Frankel (D-FL).

"Our nation is at a crossroads. We need to start pointing to solutions, not pointing blame, and as moms, businesswomen, and experienced multi-taskers, we are solution-oriented," said Congresswoman Kristi Noem. "It is an honor to serve with Congresswoman Matsui as a Co-Chair of the Congressional Caucus for Women's Issues for the 114th Congress and I am looking forward to working with this incredible group of bipartisan congresswomen to empower girls and women and improve the lives of all Americans."

"I am honored to be elected as a Co-Chair of the Congressional Caucus for Women's Issues for the 114th Congress," said Congresswoman Doris Matsui. "It is always a pleasure to work with my fellow women Members of Congress. Women know how to get things done, and I believe our experiences give us common ground to work from - regardless of political party - in order to pass strong, bipartisan legislation. I look forward to working closely with Congresswoman Noem and our biggest class of women Members yet to advance issues that matter most to women and our country."

The Congressional Caucus for Women's Issues began in 1977 with 15 members. Now, with a record number of 88 women Members serving in the House, the Caucus continues its mission of working in a bipartisan fashion to improve the lives of women and families across America.

Outgoing chairs of the Congressional Caucus for Women's Issues pass the gavel to the new leadership team.
