MATSUI APPLAUDS BIDEN'S FCC AND NTIA NOMINATIONS
WASHINGTON, D.C. Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-06) issued the following statement after President Biden announced the nominations of Jessica Rosenworcel as permanent Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chair, Gigi Sohn as new FCC Commissioner, and Alan Davidson as National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) Administrator.
"President Biden's nominations of Jessica Rosenworcel, Gigi Sohn, and Alan Davidson demonstrate a clear commitment to reinforcing American leadership in the global telecommunications marketplace and I applaud his choices of these three proven leaders," said Congresswoman Matsui. "With their experience at the helm, we can work to deliver policies that support broadband equity, inclusion, and more affordable, reliable internet connections for American families. As Vice Chair of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology, I have worked hard to lower the cost of broadband, close the digital divide, and promote innovation in 5G and open communications networks. I look forward to working with these leaders and the entire Biden Administration to meet the needs of the modern economy and build a stronger future for the American people."
