Matsui Statement on Failure of Republican Farm Bill Vote

Washington, D.C. Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D-CA) issued the following statement after the House voted to defeat the Farm Bill:

"As the most powerful country in the world, we should be creating policies that lift people up. Instead, the GOP farm bill would have made it harder for people to thrive, cutting school lunches for children and limiting the SNAP program that helps families put food on the table. The defeat of this legislation is good news for now, but we must keep up our efforts to protect SNAP for American families."
