Matsui Statement On The Passing of Journalist Leo Rennert

Washington, D.C. Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D-CA) released the following statement on the passing of former Sacramento Bee reporter Leo Rennert:

"Leo Rennert was a Holocaust survivor who immigrated to the United States and built a reputation as a straight-shooting newspaper reporter with integrity. Our region and our news industry mourn the loss of a tough, smart, fair and honest journalist. Leo worked every day to ensure that the people of Sacramento were armed with the facts, focusing on federal issues that impact our state and the Congressional delegation, including covering my late husband Bob and everything he was doing to help build up our region. My thoughts and prayers are with Leo's wife Patricia and his beloved family.
