MATSUI STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF JOYCE RALEY TEEL

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-06) issued the following statement after the passing of Joyce Raley Teel, Sacramento business leader, philanthropist, and community icon.

“Joyce Raley Teel was a champion of Sacramento – dedicating her life to the community and sharing her bold vision for what our region could be in the future,” said Congresswoman Matsui. “She loved her family more than anything, and that love of family expanded to include her desire to enrich and embrace the community around her. Although Joyce is most known for her work building up the successful Raley’s chain of supermarkets, her investment in our Sacramento community and her unwavering belief in its people will be remembered for generations to come. My prayers are with Jim and all of her loved ones during this difficult time.”
