MATSUI STATEMENT ON THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION’S CHARGES TARGETING CONGRESSWOMAN LAMONICA MCIVER

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-07), released the following statement in response to the Trump Administration’s charges targeting Congresswoman LaMonica McIver (D-NJ). 

 “Congresswoman McIver and her colleagues were performing their constitutional duty to conduct oversight and hold the Trump Administration accountable,” said Congresswoman Matsui. “Time and again, the Trump Administration has overstepped its legal bounds and used fear and intimidation to silence dissent. However, this is a disturbing, brazen escalation—a politically charged, direct assault to silence a Member of Congress for simply doing their job. These charges have no basis in law or reality. I stand in solidarity with Congresswoman McIver.”
