Matsui announces second district office in Elk Grove to open in the coming months
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D-CA), issued the following statement after she was sworn in to serve California’s 7th District in the 118th Congress.
“I am honored to continue serving our great region in the 118th Congress,” said Congresswoman Matsui. “Serving my neighbors in Sacramento and West Sacramento is the honor of my life, and I thank my new constituents in the great communities of Elk Grove, Galt, Rancho Murieta, Wilton, and the Delta for entrusting me as your representative. Over the past two years, House Democrats led a historically productive legislative session, delivering once-in-a-generation investments in the American people: transformational legislation to fight the climate crisis, rebuild our aging infrastructure, invest in American workers, lower health care costs, and create millions of good-paying jobs. As we move forward in this new Congress, I am committed to building on these achievements and working to tackle the pressing issues facing everyday Americans. I am ready to get back to work fighting for the policies that will make a real difference for our families and neighbors.”
Congresswoman Doris Matsui has represented the Sacramento region in Congress since 2005. Congresswoman Matsui has been a champion of our regional community, securing billions of dollars of federal funding for infrastructure and flood protection projects across the region. As a leader on the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee, she spearheads crucial policy to expand health care access, combat the climate crisis, and tackle the technological challenges of the 21st century economy.
California’s 7th Congressional District encompasses the heart of the Sacramento region, including Sacramento, Elk Grove, West Sacramento, Galt, Rancho Murieta, Wilton, and the Delta communities. In the coming months, Matsui is set to open a second district office in the City of Elk Grove, an additional location where the Congresswoman’s team will be able to assist constituents in navigating issues with federal agencies.
