October 4, 2017

Congresswoman Matsui Released the following statement on the Citizenship Fair.

Rep. Doris Matsui (CA-05) released the following statement regarding the Citizenship Fair:"I know the commitment and desire to live out the American dream that motivated each of you here to begin the rewarding and rigorous process of becoming a United States citizen. The process of becoming a U.S. Citizen can be a challenging experience, and I hope that the information you receive at this Fair will assist you in your efforts," said Congresswoman Matsui. "Becoming a citizen allows you the right to vote, which is one of the most precious rights. As many of you have come from places where every person may not have the right to vote, or where every vote may not be guaranteed, I know that this right means as much to you as it does to me.""I applaud each and every one of you for being here to assist those who are in search of the freedoms we enjoy as Americans. My office is always happy to assist individuals who are experiencing difficulties with the immigration system, and we look forward to providing you answers and assistance at the Citizenship Fair."The Citizenship Fair is being hosted by Assemblyman Dave Jones. Other attendees include: State Senator Darrell Steinberg, City Councilman Kevin McCarty, City Councilwoman Bonnie Pannell and more than 100 trained volunteers. The event is scheduled to start at 10am on Saturday, August 16th at the Sam Pannell Meadowview Community Center, 2450 Meadowview Road.
