Rep. Matsui Statement on the Sacramento DA's report into Shooting Death of Stephon Clark

Sacramento, CA Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D-CA) released the following statement in response to the release of the Sacramento DA's report into the shooting death of 22-year-old Stephon Clark:

"No family should have to experience the kind of tragedy that Stephon Clark's family has been going through for almost a year now. The fact is: their grief has no end. It is my hope that Stephon's tragic and deeply disturbing death will serve as a way to bring this community together, not break it apart.

"Yesterday was an extremely difficult day for Sacramento. We need to reform the criminal justice system in this country so that it is fair for everyone. It is critical that we work closely together to strengthen our community. We must continue to listen to one another and remember our shared humanity."
