Nearly 40,000 lives are claimed by gun violence in the United States every year. The Congresswoman believes it is past time that we act together to prevent gun violence from taking the lives of more victims. Congresswoman Matsui has advocated for common sense solutions like strengthening background checks, increasing gun safety research, promoting responsible gun ownership, and keeping guns out of the hands of those who would do harm to themselves and others.
