The Hanami Line officially opened last month in Sacramento, the Sacramento Tree Foundation said.

The Hanami Line, located just south of the SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity, along the Sacramento River, is the city’s first cherry blossom park and is part of Robert T. Matsui Park, named for the late Congressman.

The capitol of California has embraced a new aesthetic through the Hanami Line, its very first cherry blossom grove, providing Sacramento with a splash of Japanese tradition right along the riverfront. The city of trees is looking to plant more trees in underserved communities. Sacramento's Urban Forest Plan is looking to double the amount of tree canopy by 2045.
