Today, Rep. Doris Matsui (CA-05) introduced the Safe and Complete Streets Act of 2008 to make the nation's roadways accessible to alternate modes of transportation. Complete streets are designed and operated to enable safe access to motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, and riders of public transit.

Today, Rep. Doris Matsui delivered remarks in support of H.R. 1424, the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. The bill passed by a vote of 263-171.
Today, Congresswoman Doris O. Matsui (CA-05) announced $4.1 million for flood protection efforts in Natomas.
These funds will be used to reimburse the Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency (SAFCA) for previous work done in Natomas and will go toward additional public safety improvements in the area.
