Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D-CA) and U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) sent a letter to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), calling on the agency to reinstate the no-sail order for cruise ships and reverse course on recent efforts to restart cruise line operations after multiple positive COVID-19 cases were reported aboard the first cruise ship to set sail in the Caribbean since March.

Given the alarming rate of COVID-19 spread that has been connected to cruise lines, Congresswoman Matsui is calling on the CDC to provide details as to possible transmission rates and consequences of the new Order allowing cruise lines to resume operations in October.
