WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D-CA-07), Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY-11), Congressman Jared Huffman (D-CA-02), and Congressman Vern Buchanan (R-FL-16) introduced the Whale Conservation Habitat Analysis, Research, and Technical Strategies (CHARTS) Act of 2024, legislation that will help protect baleen and sperm whales by improving our understanding of whale feeding areas, calving grounds, and migration routes.

This bill creates a legislative framework to develop a consolidated interim storage program for spent nuclear fuel at the Department of Energy.

PPHF provides dedicated funding for innovative public health projects, including vaccination programs, chronic disease prevention programs, and health education programs.

SACRAMENTO, CA – Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-07) released the following statement after Wilton Rancheria, the City of Sacramento, Downtown Railyard Venture, LLC, and Sacramento Republic FC announced a deal for the construction of a new soccer stadium and entertainment district in Sacramento’s downtown Railyards district. Wilton Rancheria will take a majority ownership stake of Sacramento Republic FC.

Democratic Rep. Doris Matsui won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing California on Tuesday.

She was elected to succeed her late husband in 2005 after he died in office. The AP projected she would beat Republican Tom Silva.

Matsui has secured reelection comfortably in every race since.

She easily defended her seat in the primary against a Democratic challenger, David Mandel, who ran on a platform of Palestinian human rights and demanding a cease-fire by Israel in Gaza.

The gathering, held at McClellan Business Park, marked the beginning of SacRT’s ambitious push toward a zero-emission future and the creation of the region’s first hydrogen fuel infrastructure.
