Doris Matsui (CA-06) and Rosa DeLauro (CT-3) introduced the Give Our Athletes Level Salaries (GOALS) Act to ensure the World Cup-winning U.S. Women's National Team (USWNT) are paid fair and equitable wages compared to the U.S. Men's team. Even at the pinnacle of the sporting world, recent reports show the USWNT earn as little as 38 cents on the dollar compared to the USMNT, despite winning back-to-back World Cup titles unlike their male counterparts.

Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-06) announced that she and 19 Democratic colleagues will be traveling this weekend to the U.S.-Mexico border to provide critically needed Congressional oversight of human rights concerns. During this trip, Matsui will visit border patrol and central processing centers in McAllen and Brownsville, Texas, meet with humanitarian charities and organizations, and cross the Gateway International Bridge to meet with asylum seekers and migrants.
