Washington, D.C. - "I am sickened by the violence at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh. I'm praying for the congregants and the entire American Jewish community. We all have a responsibility to speak out against anti-Semitic rhetoric, which grows into acts of violence like this one. My heart is one with the Jewish community."

Washington, D.C. - "Today, I am deeply disappointed by the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to sit on the United States Supreme Court.

I am concerned that this confirmation process will have a chilling effect on survivors of sexual assault coming forward. We all witnessed Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's powerful testimony, yet by confirming Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, Senate Republicans are sending a message to women, girls, and sexual assault survivors everywhere that their experiences and stories, while believable, don't matter and are easily ignored.

Washington, D.C. - "I believe any credible and thorough FBI investigation should include interviews with the two key witnesses Judge Kavanaugh and Dr. Ford. That did not happen. While I have the upmost respect for the men and women of the FBI, it is clear that the restrictions placed on the FBI by the Trump administration did not allow for a proper or credible investigation. The Trump Administration purposely limited the scope of the investigation, excluding not just Judge Kavanaugh and Dr. Ford, but several other key witnesses from being interviewed.

Committee Republicans cast their vote despite Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's courageous and powerful testimony yesterday. It has been painstakingly obvious throughout this process that the Republican strategy is simply to ignore the survivors. Two women have publicly alleged that Judge Kavanaugh sexually assaulted them.
