Rep. Doris Matsui Statement on Draft of Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Plan
Federal Funding to Assist Local Projects
Rep. Doris Matsui (CA-05) released the following statement regarding the draft of the Economic Recovery and Reinvestment plan that was released today:
Rep. Doris Matsui (CA-05) was appointed by the Speaker to continue to serve on the exclusive Rules Committee and receive a special waiver to also serve on a second exclusive committee, Energy and Commerce.
Rep. Doris Matsui (CA-05) was appointed by the Speaker to continue to serve on the exclusive Rules Committee and receive a special waiver to also serve on a second exclusive committee, Energy and Commerce. Congresswoman Matsui is the only Member of the 111th Congress to serve on two exclusive committees.
Today, Rep. Doris Matsui (CA-05) and Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) reintroduced bicameral legislation that would defer foreclosure activity for up to nine months for certain responsible homeowners who are struggling with their home loans.
Rep. Doris Matsui (CA-05) renewed her call today for Americans to participate in a national day of service on Monday, January 19th, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Rep. Doris O. Matsui (CA-05) issued the following statement today after participating in the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee forum on the Economic Recovery Plan:
The Presidential proclamation adds nine historic sites to the national heritage of monuments and memorials, including the Tule Lake Japanese-American Internment Camp.
This funding will help NeighborWorks in Sacramento continue to provide free counseling assistance to families at risk of losing their homes, help homeowners understand the complex process and identify possible courses of action so they can make informed decisions and take action.
