"No family should have to experience the kind of tragedy that Stephon Clark's family has been going through for almost a year now. The fact is: their grief has no end. It is my hope that Stephon's tragic and deeply disturbing death will serve as a way to bring this community together, not break it apart.

Washington President Trump has officially issued a national emergency declaration to build the border wall and has identified other forms of funding that doesn't include the $1.8 billion designated to strengthen Sacramento's levees and raise Folsom Dam.

"I fought hard to ensure the safety of the Sacramento region by working to make sure that $1.8 billion in flood protection funding is not part of President Trump's unconstitutional power grab," said Congresswoman Doris Matsui.

Washington President Trump has threatened to divert federal funds from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers civil works projects, which could include $1.8 billion that the Sacramento region received as part of the long-term disaster recovery bill to strengthen Sacramento's levees and raise the Folsom Dam. Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D-CA) joined several of her California Delegation colleagues to introduce legislation to ensure that this money could not be taken away from the Sacramento region.

Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D-CA) led 19 of her House Energy andamp; Commerce Committee colleagues in introducing the Clean and Efficient Cars Act of 2019, which would preserve fuel economy and vehicle emissions standards that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save drivers money at the pump.

Sacramento, CA Today,Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-06) announced Jesus Limon Guzman will be her guest during the State of The Union address. Jesus, a DACA recipient, is an Adjunct Professor at California State University, Sacramento and a lecturer at Sacramento City College.

Limon Guzman arrived in the United States when he was just 8-years-old. His mother hoped it could give her children a brighter future. As a young adult living in South Sacramento, Limon Guzman spent much of his time volunteering and giving back to the community.

Bill would prohibit the sale of cough medicines containing the ingredient dextromethorphan to minors

WASHINGTON, DC Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D-CA) and Congressman Bill Johnson (R-OH), members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, introduced the H.R. 863 DXM Abuse Prevention Act in a bipartisan effort to prevent teen abuse of over-the-counter cough medicines containing the cough suppressant dextromethorphan, commonly referred to as DXM. The bill would establish a national age-18 requirement for the purchase of medicines containing DXM.
